Got A Question? Ask Katie

Your Question

How is my direct debit calculated?

We take a number of factors into consideration when we estimate your monthly payments over a 12-month period: -Seasonal changes in climate that may mean you use more energy in the winter than in the summer. How much energy we think you'll use over the next 12 months, based on your previous usage.

Any price or product changes on your account since your last assessment, such as the end of a fixed price product. Any credit or debit balance on your account. To help you budget, we'll aim to keep your payments at a similar level throughout the year. This normally means that you're in credit during the summer months, which then offsets higher usage during the winter.

To ensure your payments remain on track, we'll review your plan every three months to reflect your actual energy consumption, seasonal factors and incorporate any changes to your unit price or product that may affect your calculated monthly payment.

If we need to increase your monthly payments to keep you on track, we'll always let you know in advance.
